About the role

Lead Accountant role within Google International Controllership focusing on LATAM and Canada, responsible for statutory financial and tax filings, maintaining US GAAP and local standards, and modernizing finance processes with AI and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations and statutory compliance for Google entities across Latin America (LATAM) and Canada.
  • Maintain mandatory compliance aligned with US GAAP, local statutory reporting standards, and regional tax laws.
  • Modernize finance processes using AI tools and automation to reduce manual toil and streamline reporting cycles.
  • Act as a financial advisor to mitigate operational risk, guide key decision-making, and scale financial infrastructure.
  • Lead monthly financial closes, statutory audit coordination, and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
