About the role

Data Center Facilities Technician responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing data center systems (piping, mechanical components, HVAC, pumps, and control/monitoring systems) and supporting startup/commissioning of new equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components.
  • Provide daily assistance to technicians by reading blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conducting tours of systems, and assessing their working order.
  • Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC and control and monitoring systems.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) of equipment, and use of safety equipment (PPE, ladders, etc.).
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts.
