About the role

Own the foundations that make Wispr's products reliable on Android by solving platform-specific problems, improving observability, and turning a fragmented device ecosystem into durable systems for the mobile team.

Responsibilities

  • Own reliability and performance across Android versions and device manufacturers
  • Find systemic failure modes and build durable fixes
  • Improve observability, diagnostics, and operational feedback loops
  • Evolve the architecture and shared foundations behind Flow on Android
  • Set the foundation for the next set of Wispr product experiences on Android

Qualifications

  • Deep, recent experience building production Android applications or platforms
  • Deep understanding of the Android platform and ecosystem
  • Experience solving hard technical problems related to device fragmentation and manufacturer-specific behavior
  • Systems thinking and ability to solve problems at their root
  • Understanding of what it takes to chase 99.99%+ reliability with instrumentation, testing, or diagnostics
  • Comfort serving as a primary Android specialist on a small team
