About the role

Senior low-level systems engineer focused on building and maintaining the OS-level infrastructure for Neo's sensor agent, with emphasis on Rust development across Windows, macOS, and Linux, reliability, and secure, unattended deployment.

Responsibilities

  • The low-level, OS-level infrastructure the sensor is built on: handling low-level and OS-level operations directly and turning raw platform capabilities into reliable building blocks (installation and deployment, endpoint security frameworks, network visibility, driver-adjacent work, and more).
  • Infrastructure backbone for the product ensuring stability, correctness, and quality across features.
  • Sensor core capabilities on top of foundation: collection, posture and visibility, and local enforcement of security policies.
  • Reliability engineering for software that can't fail quietly: crash handling, recovery, and keeping the agent healthy and tamper-resistant on machines.
  • Full lifecycle of a production system agent: shipping, installation, updates, and unattended runs across a customer fleet.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of systems programming in Rust, C, or C++, close to the OS.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux internals (services/daemons, process and file APIs, security frameworks, low-level development).
  • Experience shipping and operating production-grade software for a large customer base (enterprise reliability, safe upgrades, telemetry-driven issue resolution).
  • Strong ownership and independence, end-to-end ownership, customer-focused mindset.
  • Team player with strong communication skills, able to explain deep technical work clearly and resolve disagreements constructively.
