About the role

Staff Software Engineer to join Xometry’s Core Platform team, focused on architectural evolution of flagship enterprise partnership and re-architecting core application services to live natively within partner ecosystems, enabling zero-latency DFM feedback and one-click procurement within enterprise design environments.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development and Technical Craft: design high-performance solutions, establish standards for embedding Xometry-AI into external PLM environments, ensure extensible and scalable architecture with enterprise SLIs/SLOs.
  • AI Fluency: integrate production ML pipelines into the application layer, optimize model serving and real-time geometry analysis, mentor engineers on AI tooling to accelerate delivery and quality.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: address data gravity and security challenges, create formal networks with partner and Xometry teams for ring-fenced data governance.
  • Scope and Impact: set strategic direction and execute core integration, lead integration of DFM (Manufacturability) and IQE (Pricing) AI engines to create a defensible edge for the partnership.
  • Collaboration and Communication: facilitate technical discourse across the organization, act as primary contact for senior leadership, guide risk/reward discussions, champion cross-functional collaboration.
  • Operational Excellence: define reliability and security standards for enterprise-grade deployments (partner-hosted or Xometry-hosted), ensure multi-tenant management.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a history of scaling complex platforms.
  • Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks (React/NextJS) used for complex enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience shaping the technical direction of multiple teams and establishing engineering patterns as organizational standards.
  • Track record of securing endorsement for 6-12 month initiatives and driving them to successful production deployment.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term technology investments.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
