About the role

Head of Engineering at Rebill, a fintech infrastructure company building cross-border payments and financial infrastructure for the Americas. Role combines hands-on coding, leadership of a small in-house team and external partners, and AI-native enhancements to SDLC and production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Reliability. Uptime, incident response, observability, and the performance of payment routing.
  • Delivery. The quarterly technical roadmap, release cadence, and the honesty of our dates.
  • Technical bar. Code review standards, testing, on-call, and documentation across in-house and external teams.
  • Time to market. Streamlining integrations with new acquirers and payment methods toward configurable solutions.
  • Capacity decisions. Decide what to build in-house vs. with partners and manage related costs.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years as a software engineer building payments, banking, or financial infrastructure that moves real money.
  • Experience from payments: acquiring, processing, ledgers, reconciliation, fintech handling real transactional volume.
  • Hands-on. Writes and reviews code; participates in incident response.
  • Experience working with external engineering partners or agencies.
  • Distributed systems in production: event-driven architectures, queues, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code.
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
  • Based in Buenos Aires, Bogotá, or Miami (hybrid).
  • AI tools as part of daily workflow.
