About the role
The Warehouse Lead guides and supports a team of Warehouse Associates, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role oversees task execution, provides on-the-job training, and serves as a key communication link between the team and warehouse management.
Responsibilities
- Assign and delegate daily tasks to warehouse staff, monitoring progress to ensure all receiving, picking, and shipping goals are met.
- Provide direct, hands-on training and mentorship to new and existing team members on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the team, addressing questions, resolving immediate issues, and escalating complex problems to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Operate a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to assist with a wide range of warehouse tasks.
- Conduct regular quality checks on packed orders and inventory to maintain accuracy and prevent shipping errors.
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment; a current forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to guide and motivate a team.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory scanning technology.
