About the role

Staff Software Engineer role in the Product Experiences team at Peregrine, building user-facing features across the Peregrine platform with ownership of end-to-end delivery, collaborating with design and PM, and delivering fast, intuitive, and trustworthy experiences powered by AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own large portions of the user-facing platform from start to finish.
  • Ship experiences across Peregrine features (Search, Dossier, Charts, Dashboards, Maps, Network, Table, Workspace, Docs, Automations, and Mobile).
  • Build search and semantic discovery across billions of records.
  • Design Dossier views to assemble complete pictures of entities on demand.
  • Create real-time, collaborative experiences on maps and networks.
  • Bring AI-powered capabilities with source transparency and trust, focusing on latency, interaction design, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with deployment team and users to iterate solutions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience with cross-functional software development teams
  • Experience shipping production-grade, user-facing software (professional or open-source)
  • Strong frontend fundamentals (React/TypeScript) and full-stack capability
  • Ability to write robust, well-tested, well-designed code
  • Solid understanding of architecting and scaling distributed systems
  • Strong best practices in modern software development and ability to navigate large codebases
  • Located in San Francisco or Washington, D.C. and able to work in office 4 days a week
