About the role

Software Engineer I on the Upfunnel frontend team focused on pre-checkout experiences, contributing to Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and developer-facing frontend tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve high-traffic frontend experiences across Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and developer-facing tooling.
  • Collaborate proactively with team and stakeholders, communicating risks and trade-offs.
  • Balance speed and quality to hit business goals while protecting systems from downtime.
  • Use browser debugging, monitoring, metrics, and testing tools to maintain reliable cross-browser experiences and address operational issues.
  • Contribute to a sense of community on the team through growth and development activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
  • Experience with Javascript/Typescript.
  • Ability to translate simple problems or business scenarios into well-tested, extensible code interacting with multiple software components.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and giving feedback via code reviews.
  • Proactive in seeking feedback and owning personal growth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
