About the role

Frontend engineer focused on authentication, verification, and fraud journeys; contributes to web and mobile interfaces with a focus on high availability and low latency in Trust & Safety authentication experiences at Affirm.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team; guiding engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems; ensuring team delivery.
  • Collaborating with product management, design & analytics during ideation; articulating technical constraints; partnering on risk-aware trade-offs.
  • Proactively identifying project, process, technology or business issues; advocating for and leading resolution.
  • Supporting operations and availability of team artifacts by creating/monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting on-call efforts.
  • Fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting/improving code review and design standards; promoting them beyond the team via writing and tech talks.
  • Developing talent on the team by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience defining a technical plan for delivering significant features or system components with elegant, simple, extensible design
  • Proficiency at making significant changes in a large code base with tools and practices to do so safely
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and proactive feedback seeking
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team
  • Equivalent practical experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
