About the role

Senior Software Engineer focused on building and scaling data platforms and services that process loan originations in real time and deliver accurate reporting to Affirm and its financial partners.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team and guiding engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
  • Collaborating with product management, design, and analytics across the product lifecycle; articulating constraints and helping make risk-aware decisions
  • Proactively identifying and leading resolution of project, process, technology, or business issues
  • Supporting operations and availability of team artifacts by creating/monitoring metrics, and contributing to on-call efforts
  • Fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting/improving code review and design standards, promoting them beyond the team
  • Developing talent on the team through feedback and guidance, leading by example

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin
