About the role

Role responsible for Baseten's relationships and market intelligence across hyperscalers and strategic neoclouds (including NVIDIA cloud partners), blending technical evaluation of compute capacity with commercial negotiations and market insight. Senior hire with mentoring responsibilities for junior teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain deep relationships across hyperscalers and strategic neoclouds (including NVIDIA cloud partners), engaging across organizations
  • Maintain a consistent, top-of-mind presence with key accounts to enable rapid capacity actions
  • Evaluate compute capacity from GPU to data center (hardware generation, rack/node configuration, interconnect, power density, cooling) to verify delivered capabilities
  • Monitor compute pricing daily by GPU generation, region, and contract term to stay competitive
  • Partner with Deals to negotiate terms (capacity commitments, deposits and payment timing, SLAs, remedies) and close agreements
  • Develop and defend a view on market direction (supply, platform transitions, regional/policy shifts) and translate into sourcing decisions
  • Mentor and pair with 1-2 junior to mid-level teammates covering the same space

Qualifications

  • Relationship-builder with strategic mindset (not a traditional enterprise sales role)
  • Technical fluency with GPUs, racks, and data center infrastructure to assess supplier offerings
  • Market instinct with ability to explain pricing movements and implications
  • Commercial judgment with understanding of unit economics and contract structures
  • Experience building and sustaining multi-level relationships within large, complex organizations
  • Strong judgment on escalation to senior leadership when needed
