About the role

Sourcing-focused role to build and maintain long-tail data center and powered land provider relationships, owning full lifecycle from outreach to ongoing management, with emphasis on long-tail opportunities and market intelligence to support Baseten's compute strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive map of data center and powered land opportunities, focusing on long tail opportunities
  • Own the full sourcing lifecycle for each relationship—from identifying new providers to ongoing relationship management
  • Develop and manage sourcing relationships across neoclouds, hyperscalers, brokers, and independent operators
  • Independently evaluate new sites and spaces to determine fit and priority
  • Prepare business cases and cost analysis to support data center and powered land opportunities, partnering with Finance
  • Maintain accurate records of suppliers, contracts, and commercial terms
  • Protect Baseten's standing relationships and exercise judgment to avoid burning bridges
  • Provide market intelligence to the Supply team, including updates on pricing and market developments to inform strategy

Qualifications

  • Background in neocloud, hyperscaler, or brokerage environments with data center or land sourcing
  • Strong project management instincts and ownership of complete relationship lifecycle
  • Ability to independently assess and prioritize opportunities with minimal guidance
  • Comfort with commercial analysis, including business case development, cost tracking, and contract-level discussions with suppliers
  • Sound judgment and discretion in sensitive relationship management
