About the role

Senior Applied AI Engineer on the AI Platform team responsible for end-to-end product engineering of AI-powered fund-operations automation, including agent orchestration, evaluation, and production deployment within EU data residency.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship agents. Design agents that automate real fund-operations workflows, and own them from prototype through production and after.
  • Evaluate and improve agent performance. Build the evaluation layer with real-document test cases, CI regression suites, human review, and clear success criteria; optimize accuracy, latency, and cost.
  • Own the AI application architecture. Oversee orchestration, multi-agent design, tool contracts, memory and context engineering (RAG, MCP); implement guardrails, approvals, and human-in-the-loop controls for investor money.
  • Run it in production. Versioned, feature-flagged agent deployments; manage rate limits, provider fallback, regional failover within EU data residency; ensure observability to trace failures to a fix.
  • Make it a platform, not a project. Consolidate document parsing/extraction into the platform; establish shared evaluation and observability; set patterns adopted by other teams; partner with DevX; mentor engineers on agents and LLM practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building production software, including at least one end-to-end agent or LLM-powered capability that remained live.
  • Deep experience with orchestration and context engineering for agents (tool contracts, memory, RAG, multi-agent design) using Mastra, ai-sdk, LangGraph or similar; integrated into a real product with authorization model.
  • Ability to measure non-deterministic systems through real-data test cases, regression suites and human review; differentiate model improvement from easier benchmarks.
  • Experience owning production deployments: reading traces, diagnosing failure modes, tuning cost/latency, handling provider rate limits and fallback.
  • Backend: TypeScript and/or Python.
  • Platform mindset: building for engineers and end users; standards that are adopted.
  • Pragmatic approach: business-outcome driven, deterministic when appropriate.
  • Experience in fintech, private markets, or regulated, document-heavy domains; EU data-residency constraints a plus.
