About the role

Legal counsel focused on drafting and negotiating contracts for AI products and services, including AI service agreements, data protection, liability, and regulatory compliance. Reports to General Counsel and collaborates with engineers and business teams in a hybrid Paris setting.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and advising on a wide range of contracts, AI service agreements among them, with customers, partners and suppliers
  • Working through the other side's mark-up and negotiating terms to define liability and risk
  • Turning new products and new AI law into contract changes and negotiation guidance
  • Answering engineers and business teams on how to deploy AI within the rules
  • Handling questions outside contracts such as employment, corporate or competition law when needed

Qualifications

  • Hold a master's in law and are admitted to the bar
  • Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant legal experience
  • Know data protection law well (GDPR and the rules around it), along with IP, contract law and liability, and regulatory compliance
  • Have worked somewhere that was growing fast
  • Can explain a legal position plainly to an engineer
  • International outlook
