About the role

Senior Staff Software Engineer responsible for developing and driving a consolidated multi-year roadmap of audio experiences on Pixel devices, leading cross-functional efforts across embedded to APK layers, and delivering high-quality audio features within constrained compute environments on Pixel and Ambient Compute platforms.

Responsibilities

  • - Collaborates with senior leadership, product management and research teams to define the roadmap of audio features for Pixel devices.
  • - Implements experiences and features working with codebases throughout the stack from embedded to high level OS application.
  • - Leads multi-year engineering efforts across sub-component teams while owning the strategy, architectural improvements, and program methodologies required to deliver audio quality on Pixel devices.
  • - Designs solution architectures that enable solutions to fit within extremely constrained compute environments, respecting power, performance, latency and user experience tradeoffs.
  • - Holds teams and the organization accountable for Pixel Audio quality, ensuring polish and perfecting product to create delightful audio experiences for users.

Qualifications

  • - Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; 8 years of experience in software development; 7 years of experience with full stack development, from embedded to high-level applications, in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go; 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products; experience with audio technologies (e.g., audio systems, audio features, audio research, etc).
