About the role

Senior software development engineer role focused on design and delivery of features and integrations for Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB, a high-performance, cloud-native time-series database service. Responsibilities include leading architecture, design, and mentoring while solving distributed systems and database challenges to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance for AWS customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of cloud-native database services optimized for cloud environments
  • Design, implement, test, and deploy database services optimized for cloud environments
  • Mentor engineers and managers while contributing hands-on technical work
  • Drive technical decisions, design tradeoffs, and feature prioritization
  • Partner with senior executives to define business targets and resource planning
  • Build and scale engineering teams through recruitment and talent development
  • Shape technical strategy to deliver innovative solutions for customers

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
