About the role

Manager, Public Policy to develop and coordinate policy strategy in support of Amazon’s commitment to Strive to Be Earth’s Best Employer. Serves as liaison between Public Policy and multiple business partners, leading government affairs advocacy on employment and workforce policy at state and local levels.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Public Policy, the business, and legal to align core business priorities with public policy goals and coordinate policy issues across state legislatures and regulatory bodies
  • Manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and initiatives in concert with business objectives
  • Anticipate challenges/obstacles as the public policy landscape evolves
  • Participate in relevant industry associations
  • Travel is required
  • Research and analyze employment and workforce policy developments at state/local levels and connect legislative activity to Amazon's priorities
  • Coordinate with public policy and relevant businesses to ensure alignment on policy positions and manage external advocacy efforts and outreach programs
  • Lead engagements with trade associations, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders
  • Anticipate challenges as public policy evolves
  • Work within the Public Policy team to execute strategy and align with business priorities and goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, or Economic Development
  • 8+ years of experience in public policy, government, or trade associations on relevant topics
