About the role
UX Designer with expertise in Design Systems and Visual Design to evolve and maintain the Amazon Autos design system, ensuring visual consistency across customer-facing and dealer-facing touchpoints, and to drive AI-enabled design workflows at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design System Stewardship: Own and evolve the Amazon Autos design system—defining, documenting, and maintaining reusable components, patterns, tokens, and guidelines that scale across web and mobile experiences. Leverage AI-powered tools to suggest, audit, and optimize design token structures across themes and platforms.
- Visual Design Excellence: Craft high-fidelity UI designs with typography, color, spacing, iconography, motion, and layout to ensure a premium, cohesive brand experience.
- AI-Native UI Patterns: Design system components specifically for AI-powered experiences and natural language-to-UI interfaces where users or internal teams can describe a UI and have it generated from system components.
- Component Design & Documentation: Design, spec, and document new components and patterns; partner with engineering to ensure accurate implementation and accessibility compliance. Integrate AI tools to generate and maintain component documentation, usage guidelines, and changelogs to keep the system current at scale.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers, UX designers, researchers, product managers, and content designers to translate business and customer needs into design solutions.
- Consistency, Quality & Governance: Audit experiences for visual and interaction inconsistencies; establish governance for AI-generated layouts and human reviews to maintain brand alignment.
- Contribution to Broader Design Culture: Share best practices, conduct design reviews, mentor peers, and contribute to team rituals and knowledge sharing.
- Prototyping & Storytelling: Create interactive prototypes and design narratives; utilize prompt-driven prototyping and generative AI to explore directions within system constraints.
