About the role

Senior SDE role focused on designing, building, and leading multi-component software systems for AWS Data Center Bridge across the full development lifecycle. Mentors teams, guides architectural direction, and explores AI/tools to improve productivity and software quality within AWS infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of multi-component software systems across the full development lifecycle, from defining technical strategy through deployment and operational excellence.
  • Own your team's architectural direction, making informed trade-offs between scalability, performance, security, and maintainability while ensuring software is extensible for future needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers across related teams to align on system interfaces, resolve cross-team dependencies, and deliver integrated solutions that serve customers effectively.
  • Mentor and coach engineers on your team and beyond, raising the engineering bar through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on guidance that helps others grow.
  • Evaluate and integrate generative artificial intelligence tools and emerging technologies where appropriate, applying responsible practices to improve team productivity and software quality.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
