About the role

Senior engineering leader to own an at-scale ML compute platform, set multi-year technical strategy, and lead a 40–50 person organization spanning hardware bring-up, firmware, cluster management, and application software for AWS’s ML training/inference workloads and NVIDIA/NVIDIA partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own an existing, at-scale ML compute platform and drive its multi-year technical strategy.
  • Lead a team of 3–5 managers and roughly 40–50 engineers to ensure health, velocity, and long-term direction of the organization.
  • Architect and invest in platform capabilities spanning hardware bring-up, firmware, cluster management, and application software.
  • Partner with silicon and hardware partners (Annapurna and NVIDIA) to co-design and bring up platforms and systems.
  • Collaborate with science, ML framework, and AWS service organizations to align roadmaps and deliver capabilities across teams.
  • Define where the platform needs to be several years out and influence direction beyond immediate teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
