About the role

Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) supports field Security and Loss Prevention for Amazon’s Worldwide Operations, affiliate and retail businesses. The SLP Specialist leads efforts to protect people, product, and data in a designated building and supports the Security and Loss Prevention Cluster Manager for their geographical area.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and critical incidents
  • Contribute to identification of vulnerabilities and define mitigating actions while ensuring legal and ethical standards
  • Serve as department liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert for site leadership
  • Develop strategies for alarm reduction and diagnose problematic devices with internal and external partners
  • Domestic regional travel up to 25% of the time when applicable
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks (standing up to 12 hours, variable temperatures, stairs)
  • This role covers 24/7 operations and requires ability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience, or 1+ year in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, or operations, or Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate
  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and Business Continuity planning experience
