About the role

Transportation Associates perform trailer moves in the yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct yard audits, complete driver training programs, and operate multiple vehicle types to support Amazon’s transportation network. Role involves outdoor work, safety compliance, and potential CDL/DQF requirements based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations for all vehicle operations in the yard.
  • Perform yard functions to ensure trailers arrive/depart on time with zero defects and maintain workflow for buildings.
  • Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
  • Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
  • Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify management of maintenance or delivery issues.
  • Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and regulations.
  • Support the business as a peer trainer or by working at nearby site locations as needed.
  • Drive, maneuver, and load/unload trucks using approved equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 21 years or older
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk up to 12 hours, and frequently push/pull/squat/bend/reach
  • 40 hours/week with overtime as required
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • English proficiency to understand and adhere to job requirements and safety guidelines
