About the role

Leadership role to grow and manage Glean's product design team, partner with cross-functional leaders, and set a long-term design strategy to deliver high-quality product experiences for enterprise users.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of product designers, researchers, and content designers to execute on company goals while maintaining quality.
  • Refine and lead the standard for design processes at Glean.
  • Mentor and develop the skills of designers and design managers, establishing performance and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure strategic planning and metric achievement; flex bandwidth as needed.
  • Craft a long-term design strategy and vision, articulating product vision through design.
  • Foster a thriving, collaborative, safe, and fun design culture that enables high-quality work and future-oriented AI design.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience coaching and managing performance of Product Design, Content Design or UX Writing, and UX Research teams.
  • Experience at high-growth or late-stage tech companies in B2B; managing managers preferred.
  • Strong portfolio of product work showing impact on business through design work by self or teams.
  • Hands-on, collaborative, low-ego leadership with ownership and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding design talent; spotting promising designers.
  • Experience with organizational planning and lean team management; bonus for distributed teams across time zones.
  • Proven track record of developing talent and fostering a healthy design culture.
  • Mastery of design craft, user-centered design practices, and ability to map decisions to user problems.
  • Experience partnering with PM, Engineering, and Marketing to drive vision, strategy, and execution in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for alignment across leadership and teams.
  • Experience defining and influencing product strategy with data-driven design.
