About the role
Staff Product Manager leading the strategy, roadmap, and AI-enabled automation for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) across Xometry, including cross-geography implementation, data/ML collaboration, and a centralized Intelligent DFM Workbench.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive a multi-year roadmap for DFM across Xometry — a global workbench enabling staff and AI reviewers to accelerate quality and speed of the custom parts lifecycle.
- Own the Intelligent DFM Workbench: the single source of truth for what each order requires, read/edited by staff and viewed by Buyers/Partners with role-specific views
- Partner with data science and ML engineering to improve manufacturability models (3D geometry analysis, VLM/LLM aspects) and build feedback loops (champion/challenger and golden dataset) to improve record accuracy
- Define and track metrics (DFM handle time, sign-off latency, paper-to-reality gap, RMA rate, regional rework) and prioritize the roadmap
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Data Science, UX, Sourcing, Pricing, Order Systems, Quality, and DFM engineers/case managers; present strategy and ROI to executives
Qualifications
- 8+ years of product management experience in AI/ML-powered or technical products within B2B, marketplace, or manufacturing/engineering environments
- Experience owning a system of record or complex data contract used by multiple downstream systems and roles with human-in-the-loop workflows
- Experience designing policy-driven workflows (approval routing, tiered sign-off, escalation logic) rather than single-user tools
- Comfort operating across regions and stakeholder groups to maintain a single global design standard
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, ability to distill complexity for engineers and executives
- Rigorous, data-driven prioritization, experimentation, and measuring impact on cycle time, quality, and satisfaction
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFM principles (CNC, sheet metal, additive, injection molding); comfort with geometry-based feasibility rules
- Track record partnering with data science/ML teams to ship models into production (computer vision, 3D/geometric analysis, applied LLM/VLM a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field; MBA/MS a plus
