About the role

Principal Software Engineer focused on embedding Xometry’s AI-native marketplace into enterprise CAD/PLM platforms. Primary technical architect for a major enterprise partnership, delivering a native integration with real-time AI insights inside the partner’s design environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery, architectural design, and adoption of flagship embedded partner integration with native 3D geometry data flow considerations and real-time AI insights.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate geometry-processing pipelines and ensure sub-second IQE latency within partner UI; define and evangelize AI fluency standards and mentor engineers.
  • Tackle complex integration challenges with enterprise-grade data governance and secure one-click order placement.
  • Lead cross-team decision-making and execute multi-quarter roadmaps to deliver deep native integration value.
  • Act as primary technical point of contact for partner engineering teams; motivate internal teams toward a unified digital thread and mentor engineers through complex design reviews.
  • Own reliability and security of the integration microservices; ensure “click-to-buy” reliability and comprehensive monitoring/alerting for enterprise PLM transactions.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of professional software development experience with multi-quarter initiative leadership.
  • Deep experience in Python (backend services, APIs), React/TypeScript (embedded UIs), and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Significant system architecture, microservices design, and distributed systems experience, especially with high-volume data exchange between disparate enterprise ecosystems.
  • Proven track record of enterprise-grade integrations beyond simple API wrappers.
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
