About the role

Senior technical leader responsible for unifying and driving the Developer Infrastructure organization (DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, Mobile Platform) with a focus on Bazel-based build systems, CI/CD, and integrating AI/agentic development across the SDLC. Based in Toronto with in-person attendance at least 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction and roadmap for the Developer Infrastructure org — unifying DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform under a shared vision
  • Lead and evolve Bazel-based monorepo build infrastructure, including remote build execution and language-agnostic build optimization
  • Scale CI/CD pipelines to support thousands of daily builds, overseeing GitHub configurations, pre-merge checks, and test execution infrastructure
  • Drive the vision for TestX and the test infrastructure/environments that simulate the full system
  • Champion the integration of AI and agentic systems across the full SDLC to multiply developer velocity and code quality
  • Set technical standards across Backend Platform and Mobile Platform for core language runtimes, libraries, IDE tooling, and security
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define and execute a long-term developer infrastructure roadmap with AI as a force multiplier at every layer of the SDLC

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience at Senior Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer level
  • Deep expertise with Bazel and large-scale monorepo build systems
  • Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines at massive scale
  • Fluency in Go and/or Python; familiarity with TypeScript, Swift, or Android development environments
  • Strong background with distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with test infrastructure, integration tests, or developer environment platforms
  • Interest in or hands-on experience with agentic AI systems and AI-driven developer velocity programs
  • Exceptional technical leadership, communication, and influence skills
  • Track record of mentoring senior engineers and elevating technical bar across large organizations
