About the role

Senior technical leader focused on infrastructure, developer productivity, and platform engineering to build scalable, secure, and self-service tooling for internal developers in Tapestry (Google/Alphabet). Co-leads technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards for the Infrastructure and Developer Productivity team, with emphasis on multi-tenant cloud platforms, CI/CD, IaC, AI tooling sandboxes, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and operate scalable, multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Ensure efficient compute scheduling and autoscaling across mixed hardware workloads (CPUs, GPUs, and TPUs) supporting simulation and machine learning models.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of production experience in Infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, or Developer Productivity/Platform Engineering.
  • 2+ years as a formal Tech Lead or Staff Engineer coordinating roadmaps and architecture for multi-team surfaces.
  • Advanced production-grade Kubernetes (GKE) and multi-tenant cloud architectures experience (GCP preferred).
  • Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar tools.
  • Proven track record building large-scale automated build/test/release pipelines (e.g., Tekton, GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, Bazel).
  • Platform-as-a-Product mindset with ability to interview stakeholders and reduce deployment friction while increasing frequency and reducing MTTR.
