About the role

Software engineer role focusing on iOS, building features for Google’s mobile products with end-to-end ownership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and leveraging AI-powered development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and improvement of complex software systems, with a strong focus on the iOS platform. Write high-quality, well-tested, scalable, and maintainable code in Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Drive technical decisions and architecture for key features and components. Own and contribute across the full stack, including designing robust and scalable server-side APIs. Take ownership of multi-quarter projects and guide them through the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to define and implement user-facing features, often taking the lead on technical designs.
  • Advocate product excellence and ensure features are comprehensive, considering accessibility, internationalization, and long-term maintainability.
  • Leverage the use of AI tools to enhance and accelerate development workflows within the team. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with native iOS application development (e.g., Swift, SwiftUI).
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with large-scale application design and architecture.
