About the role

Google Cloud PIE server software role focusing on firmware, BIOS, kernel, and full-stack software to power fleet infrastructure; leadership of high-impact software initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead critical, high-impact software initiatives in a fast-paced environment, overseeing project priorities, deadlines, and core deliverables.
  • Apply deep expertise across computer architecture, BIOS, firmware, kernel, and full-stack software to power and scale fleet-level infrastructure.
  • Lead early system board bring-up, troubleshooting, triage, and data center deployment by developing automated tools for diagnostics, reliability, and performance evaluation.
  • Coach, mentor, and influence a distributed team of engineers to elevate code quality, versatility, and overall engineering excellence.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align on goals, outcomes, and roadmaps, successfully executing engineering programs and driving continuous productivity improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience with C++, Linux, Shell Scripting, Python, Operating Systems, Bootloaders, Firmware, Leadership, Reliability.
