About the role

Technical Program Manager role focused on coordinating fiber construction and network delivery for Google Cloud and Production network, including working with vendors, planning, scoping, and managing orders and deployments of network elements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly during the lifecycle of network orders for space and power, fiber optic, and wavelength services.
  • Prepare or review drawings, maps, scopes of work and other materials, as needed, to clearly describe projects to external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage bid processing across multiple vendors, evaluate alternatives and develop cost estimates for project-specific feasibility studies.
  • Provide overall support to the Network Planning, Acquisition, and Deployment teams on scoping and managing orders and deployments of network elements such as dark fiber and data center infrastructure.
  • Work closely with Google’s third party telecom and colocation vendors, managing their deliverables while keeping an eye on the bottom line, and driving cost effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in managing fiber construction projects.
  • Experience with inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure.
