About the role

Trainee position within Google’s regional Legal team (Hamburg) for students pursuing legal qualifications, starting Oct/Nov/Dec 2027 for a 3–4 month fixed-term contract. Provides exposure to a range of legal challenges in the information age and opportunities to contribute to legal research, agreement drafting, and knowledge base maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in a variety of projects, such as Google products localization, and agreement review and drafting.
  • Conduct research on a variety of legal topics including intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, advertising, data protection, etc.
  • Respond to various legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services.
  • Assist the Legal team in the preparation and management of court actions.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in compulsory legal training (Station im Rahmen des Referendariats).
  • First legal state exam completion (Erstes Staatsexamen).
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
