Hybrid (Global/Remote with night shift potential)$0 + bonusfull-timePosted 4w ago
About the role
AI Product Operator focused on building Clara, Niural's compliance agent, to automate HR, payroll, and payments compliance for US-based operations. Responsibilities include researching applicable compliance layers, data points, exceptions, and conflicts from primary sources; building AI workflows, governance, and production tools; and collaborating with legal and product to deliver defensible, auditable AI-assisted compliance.
Responsibilities
- Research US compliance across HR, payroll, and payments
- Work out which compliance layers apply to our industry, platform, employers, and contractors
- Figure out the data points each check runs on (e.g., wage checks require salary and work location)
- Find the exceptions and conflicts, determine which obligation wins, and settle with legal for defensible conclusions
- Cite sources from statutes and official guidance and keep it current
- Build the AI workflows that apply rules to platform and document data with reasons and sources
- Ensure accuracy and abstain when inputs are thin
- Own model governance: prompt and model versioning, eval suites, and decision logging for reproducibility
- Develop internal applications for legal/compliance/operations without engineer in the loop
- Integrations with payroll engine, HR systems, and databases to avoid manual data movement
- Deploy, monitor, iterate, document; own reliability, access control, and data handling
- Use Claude Code and similar tools to ship rapidly
- Collaborate with legal team and AI Product Manager to surface layers, data points, exceptions, and conflicts; legal validates interpretations and rules
- Provide impact and sequencing guidance for business needs together with Product Manager
Qualifications
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, strong in Python and/or TypeScript
- Hands-on experience building and deploying real applications (FastAPI, Node, React/Next.js, or equivalent)
- Deep experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI): prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs
- Experience building multi-step AI workflows or agent systems that run unattended
- RAG architectures, vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate), and document processing pipelines
- Comfort with SQL/PostgreSQL and API integrations (REST, webhooks)
- Production deployment and operations (Docker, AWS/GCP/Vercel)
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
- Strong bias toward shipping: implement end-to-end check quickly
- Ability to read dense primary material and turn it into structured rules
- Comfort reasoning from obligations to exact required data
- Problem-solving without a spec and ability to propose solutions
- Intellectual honesty about ambiguity; ability to work with lawyers
