About the role

Product Engineer role at PostHog, a remote-friendly SaaS company focused on product analytics and observability. Autonomous, full-stack engineering role with emphasis on end-to-end ownership, collaboration, and customer-facing impact.

Responsibilities

  • Owning products and features from beginning to end. This means originating ideas based on your intuition, talking to users, and understanding our strategy and goals. It means testing MVPs in production with real users. It means iterating on their feedback, owning pricing, and ensuring the ongoing success of your work.
  • Collaborating with design (when necessary). Product engineers are full stack, ship and own the basic UX using the design system. Decide when to collaborate with design to iterate and polish the experience.
  • Talking to users. Read feedback from users and iterate quickly. Build relationships with users to discuss ideas and iterate on shipping new things.
  • Doing support. Each engineering team designates a Support hero to investigate and resolve customer issues, with some on-call time.
  • Writing docs. Document features with collaboration from the content team; ideally the builder also documents their work.

Qualifications

  • You've built things agents actually use (API an agent can drive, MCP server, evals, docs for machines).
  • Full-stack experience with relevant technologies (e.g., Python or similar, React or similar; big data experience a bonus).
  • Experience taking a project from 0 to 1 (led a project, founder, or strong side project).
  • Strong writing skills; ability to communicate ideas effectively.

About PostHog

The single platform to analyze, test, observe, and deploy new features

PostHog helps engineers build better products. We provide everything they need to make sure they are building something that people want. This means - product analytics, session replays, feedback tools, feature flags, experimentation, LLM observability, and a data warehouse (with SQL) with one click data imports from the places you use. We've been averaging ~10% monthly revenue growth, we are [default alive](http://www.paulgraham.com/aord.html), and we didn't raised a huge / now-overpriced round in 2021. While others are focused on layoffs and struggling to grow into huge valuations, we're focusing on an awesome product for end users, hiring (a handful of) exceptional team members and seeing fantastic increases in revenue as a result. Check out posthog.com/careers if you want to be part of this journey.
