About the role

Legal role focused on AI governance and data privacy across Aleph’s global footprint, advising on AI risk classifications, GDPR/compliance, data protection, and vendor/AI-related agreements. Hybrid, full-time based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on and support the practical implementation of legal requirements across all AI risk categories (e.g., EU AI Act) including risk classification, compliance obligations, and coordination with product and tech teams.
  • Monitor emerging AI regulations and advise on their intersection with data protection across markets.
  • Advise the business on responsible AI governance and internal AI use policies.
  • Advise, coordinate, and support colleagues on data protection and privacy compliance issues, including non-EU markets.
  • Collaborate on internal audits at Aleph Group level in data protection.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and educational materials on data protection, privacy, and AI compliance topics.
  • Participate in data protection, privacy, and AI-related legal projects.
  • Promote a culture of data protection and responsible AI compliance.
  • Support AI-related tech projects, including API integrations with third-party AI providers, ensuring data protection, IP, and contractual compliance.
  • Negotiate and draft AI/technology procurement agreements (vendor contracts, API/data-sharing, licensing) including IP provisions.
  • Coordinate with product/tech teams to assess IP, confidentiality, and data protection risks before onboarding new AI tools or vendors.
  • Organize and maintain data protection records and documentation globally.
  • Assist in contract preparation and internal policies related to data protection and GDPR compliance.
  • Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) with the wider team.
  • Handle ad hoc legal and compliance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Law
  • Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on experience in data privacy and compliance with a strong focus on GDPR
  • Solid expertise in data privacy laws and GDPR
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI systems across risk categories (incl. EU AI Act)
  • Working knowledge of AI-related legal/regulatory frameworks
  • Experience researching/applying data privacy requirements in non-EU markets (LATAM, APAC, MEA)
  • Proficient English communication (written and verbal)
  • Tech-oriented mindset with curiosity about AI/privacy intersection
  • Experience in global/regional settings beyond EU-only
  • Practical experience negotiating/drafting technology/AI related agreements (vendor contracts, API/data-sharing, licensing) with IP protection and indemnification provisions

Benefits

  • The minimum gross annual base salary is EUR 39,000, with final level determined by experience (Associate Manager or Manager)
  • Variable component, paid annually
