About the role

Role focused on driving analytics for User Lending (BNPL and Personal Loans) within Meesho's Financial Services, building analytical frameworks, policies, scorecards, and risk rules to scale BNPL and PL portfolios. Owns risk analytics initiatives, collaborates cross-functionally, and leverages data to drive risk interventions and portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

  • Owning and driving risk analytics initiatives across digital lending portfolios, including BNPL, Personal Loans, and other unsecured lending products.
  • Identify portfolio trends, diagnose emerging risks, and conduct deep-dive RCAs to understand key drivers of credit performance.
  • Partner with Business, Product, Data Science, and cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute risk strategies and projects.
  • Evaluate existing and proposed credit policies and translate portfolio insights into actionable risk interventions.
  • Monitor key portfolio metrics (DPD buckets, roll rates, vintage curves, GNPA/NPA, collection efficiency, approval rates, losses, portfolio yield).
  • Use data to assess the impact of risk policies and strategies on portfolio growth, credit quality, and profitability.
  • Perform data mining and analysis using SQL, Hive, Metabase, Python, and other data tools.
  • Build and implement basic scorecards, analytical frameworks, and risk rules in BRE.
  • Apply knowledge of PD, EAD, and LGD models to understand ECL and portfolio-level credit risk.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, independently drive projects, and solve ambiguous problems using first-principles thinking.
  • Leverage AI tools in day-to-day analytics, problem-solving, and productivity workflows.

Qualifications

  • MBA, Engineering, or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3.5 years to 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience managing or analyzing BNPL, Personal Loans, or other unsecured digital lending portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk metrics and portfolio performance (DPD, roll rates, vintage curves, GNPA/NPA, collection efficiency, approval rates, losses, yield).
  • RCA, analytical, and critical-thinking skills with ability to translate data into business insights.
  • Strong knowledge of PD, EAD, LGD modelling and ECL application.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data-mining tools (Hive, Metabase or equivalents).
  • Hands-on experience with Python for data wrangling, scorecard development, and implementing risk rules in BRE.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate risk decisions effectively.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-ownership environments with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools in daily work and problem-solving, with relevant experience in Credit Risk, Risk Analytics, Credit Risk Policy, or Decision Science (preferably in digital lending).
