About the role

Solutions Engineer focused on guiding customers through technical discovery, design, PoCs, and validation of Speechmatics’ speech technology. Hands-on role involving demos, code, deployments, and customer-facing activities across global accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with Sales to lead the technical pre-sales process from discovery to close
  • Understanding customer requirements (security, scale, integrations, accuracy, workflows) and designing practical solutions
  • Building and delivering technical demos, prototypes, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs)
  • Deploying and configuring environments in cloud or on-prem setups for customer evaluations
  • Writing scripts or lightweight integrations (Python or JavaScript) to support demos and customer testing
  • Troubleshooting customer challenges and guiding them toward successful outcomes
  • Delivering engaging technical presentations to customers, partners, and events
  • Supporting conferences and showcases globally, including international travel, to deliver compelling technical demonstrations
  • Sharing knowledge internally and helping Sales stay up to date as our platform evolves

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, Technical Consulting, or similar)
  • Hands-on programming ability - ideally Python/JavaScript
  • Comfortable working with APIs (REST and WebSocket), integrations, and technical troubleshooting
  • Experience deploying or configuring software in cloud, Linux, containers, or networked environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate customer needs into workable solutions
  • Confident communicator who enjoys working directly with customers
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies quickly
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
