About the role

Policy Development Lead focusing on global policy for YouTube Trust and Safety, driving policy updates, cross-functional collaboration, and integration of AI tools to protect users and maintain trust across Google products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update our global policies focusing on policy requirements for harmful and dangerous activities, suicide and self-harm, graphic violence and other areas.
  • Identify policy issues that may affect Google and understand their impact, and manage high-impact policy escalations and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop and implement product policies and standards.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and launch products that promote user trust and uphold Google’s policies.
  • Incorporate AI tools into core work, and understand the use and impact of AI tools in the YouTube creator ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment.
  • Experience working with global teams and communicating with stakeholders cross-functionally.
  • Experience using AI tools in a policy or trust and safety context.
