About the role

The Data Center team designs and operates sophisticated electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems for Google data centers. Facilities Technicians operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions, performing inspection, maintenance, and repair of data center systems, and assisting with startup, commissioning, and integration of new equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and mechanical system components.
  • Provide daily assistance to technicians reading blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.
  • Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC and control, and monitor systems.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of mechanical/HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs (23 kg) of equipment, and required use of safety equipment (PPE, safety harnesses, ladders, etc.).
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and work rotations/shifts.

  • €78000 - €79500 (EUR) base with 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits (Belgium)
