About the role

Role focuses on communicating Google’s sustainability and infrastructure initiatives, building media relationships, developing materials and campaigns, and supporting announcements and milestones related to environmental topics.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and execute campaign activities focused on crucial environmental and energy topics, including water stewardship, emissions, environmental impacts, clean energy, and other environment related topics.
  • Assist in strategic coordination and messaging for broader sustainability efforts and milestones, including announcements related to Carbon Credits and Removals, Circular Economy, Sustainable Aviation Fuel, and cross-company events like Earth Day, COP, and Climate Week.
  • Provide critical, agile support to manage incoming inquiries and press demands. Anticipate and respond to shifting narratives and public scrutiny.
  • Cultivate local, state, and national media relationships to drive awareness about Google sustainability efforts. Act as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to key business partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or public affairs, with a focus on project execution.
  • Experience working on sustainability or technology infrastructure initiatives.
