About the role

Lead technical contributions in computer vision and machine learning for augmented/mixed reality, guiding cross-disciplinary teams from research to production within Google XR’s Semantic Perception work.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and deliver computer vision and machine learning technologies for augmented and mixed reality platforms.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in taking CV/ML models from research prototypes to production, focusing on mobile framework integration, edge optimization, and runtime robustness.
  • Serve as tech lead across critical XR feature tracks, guiding multidisciplinary teams of software engineers and research scientists from scoping through release.
  • Partner effectively with product, UX, and program management, while maintaining proactive alignment with executive leadership and key stakeholders across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in computer vision and machine learning, with specialized focus in one or more of: 3D computer vision, multimodal learning, and scene/object understanding.
  • Experience in an industry or advanced research setting acting as a technical lead or equivalent, driving the complete research-to-product pipeline.
