About the role

Customer Engineer role focused on partnering with Sales to differentiate Google Cloud and Google Public Sector offerings for state and local government customers, designing agentic AI solutions, leading PoCs, and translating government requirements into scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to uncover and qualify Google Cloud and AI-first opportunities, addressing technical objections around adoption, and developing strategic pathways to clear technical blockers.
  • Own the technical relationship with state and local Government customers in the State of California, leading immersive product briefings on Google Cloud and Google's GenAI portfolio, driving innovative PoC work, and orchestrating technical resources across GPS.
  • Demonstrate and rapidly prototype intelligent integrations, bringing autonomous agents and AI-powered workflows to life directly within customer and partner environments.
  • Design and recommend AI-optimized enterprise architectures and integration strategies, laying the platform and data infrastructure foundations required to deploy comprehensive, forward-looking solutions.
  • Travel to state and local government agencies, industry conferences, and related events as required to advocate for Google Public Sector's goal and engage directly with government leaders.

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • - 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • - Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • - Experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise environments, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
  • - Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
