About the role

Senior leadership role in the Finance organization focused on technical accounting areas (equity, intangibles/goodwill, leases, fixed assets), reporting/tax deliverables, and building and developing the accounting team in a high-growth, remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly allocations and software capitalization processes, ensuring accuracy, proper support, and policy compliance.
  • Serve as the primary reviewer during the monthly close for the trial balance and financial statements, booking and reviewing adjusting entries and coordinating with the accounting team on adjustments.
  • Internal subject matter expert on equity accounting, partnering with external vendors on 409A valuations, stock-based compensation, and deferred fulfillment matters.
  • Manage technical accounting for intangible assets and goodwill, leases, and fixed assets, including impairment analysis, standards compliance, and asset tracking; create/update accounting memos.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations among parent company and subsidiaries.
  • Lead the transition and sunsetting of legacy systems/processes from newly acquired entities; support due diligence and integration for future M&A.
  • Partner with business and FP&A to prepare and deliver commentary for monthly/quarterly financial statements and materials for Audit Committee; address investor/leadership questions.
  • Partner with Sr. Director of Tax on income tax data requests, calculate and ensure state sales tax compliance, manage business tax filings with state/local authorities.
  • Serve as accounting team's Workday system expert (configuration, troubleshooting, process improvements).
  • Assist with the annual audit, including preparing annual financial statements and disclosures.
  • Build relationships with FP&A, Tax, Legal, IT Systems, and Engineering.
  • Serve as the accounting team's AI champion to drive process efficiencies and share best practices.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team with clear career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Big 4 experience and CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience with Workday/Looker/Microsoft Suite/GSuite or other large ERP.
  • Public company experience including readiness for IPO.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise in complex transactions (e.g., mergers and acquisitions).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to articulate complex issues to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, prioritization, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High emotional intelligence; ability to build relationships across levels.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing talent.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, independent with integrity and professionalism.
