About the role

Motion Designer position in Brand Studio within Zapier's Campaign Marketing team. Focus on building motion design systems, producing product explainers, website animations, social video snippets, and scalable templates while collaborating across cross-functional teams and external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce motion across product explainers, website animations, paid social video snippets, keynote and event motion, and campaign assets
  • Draft simple storyboards for straightforward projects to move fast
  • Work directly from UI frames provided by the product team to build polished product demo animations and feature explainers
  • Build Zapier's motion design language: ownable branded motion patterns across surfaces
  • Create motion guidelines, component libraries, and mogrts files for repeatable building blocks for partners and social teams
  • Explore tools like Jitter and Figma Motion to enable partners to generate on-brand animated assets without Brand Studio involvement
  • Produce short video snippets for paid social testing across multiple angles and formats
  • Support the recurring product video format and turn it into a scalable template for future launches

Qualifications

  • You can take a UI frame or a brand brief and turn it into a story that lands
  • You think in systems: build mogrts files, component libraries, and motion guidelines
  • Understanding of brand and UI motion: timing, easing, personality, emotional register
  • Strong sense of sound and rhythm; integrate motion with sound
  • Understanding of narrative in motion (setup, tension, resolution)
  • Ability to articulate reasoning behind creative choices to stakeholders
  • Willingness to use AI as part of practice and share learnings with team
  • Comfort with ambiguity, fast-paced work style
