Part-time: IB and Olympiad Math Teacher (Online)
About the role
Online IB and Olympiad math teaching role for Strive Math, a YC-backed online coding school for kids. Teachers guide students through IB curriculum and olympiad-style problem solving, delivering sessions remotely.
Responsibilities
- Teach students math over Google Meet/Zoom (ages 8 to 12/grade 12).
- Cover IB Mathematics (MYP and DP, including Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation at SL and HL).
- Prepare students for math olympiad and competitions (e.g. SASMO, SMO, AMC, Math Kangaroo, national olympiads).
- Guide students to understand the WHY behind math concepts and develop problem-solving strategies.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and coaching skills; learn alongside students.
Qualifications
- Confidently teach IB Mathematics up to DP level (grade 12).
- Familiarity with IB curriculum and assessment style.
- Experience teaching, coaching, or competing in math olympiads or competitions.
- Patience and passion for working with kids/teens.
- Energetic personality capable of engaging students for 1 hour.
- Available to commit at least 5 hours per week.
- Strong and reliable internet connection.
