About the role

Senior Software Engineer, Platform to build services, infrastructure, and developer interfaces powering Numeral's AI-native tax platform. Cross-functional role spanning infrastructure, public API, MCP server, and integrations with billing platforms and ERPs. Hands-on with ownership from design to production.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve our public API and MCP server, making it easy for customers, developers, and AI tools to work with Numeral.
  • Build integrations with billing platforms and ERPs, handling data synchronization, workflow automation, and the real-world complexity of financial data.
  • Improve the infrastructure behind our platform, supporting reliable APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines as transaction volumes grow.
  • Own projects end to end, including technical design, implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation.
  • Improve observability, performance, and incident response so we can identify problems quickly and prevent repeat issues.
  • Automate infrastructure and deployment workflows through infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and container tooling.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to ship new capabilities while keeping our systems dependable and maintainable.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building and operating backend software or platform systems in production.
