About the role

Backend software engineer role on the Streaming team focused on data infrastructure, event-driven architecture, and stream processing using technologies like Kafka, Flink, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Break down larger projects into tasks and deliver them in multiple phases with timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ideate, articulate technical constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Create and monitor metrics, support on-call, and ensure operations and availability of team artifacts.
  • Contribute to team community through growth and development activities, including interview participation.

Qualifications

  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficient in Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, Kafka, Flink, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to translate simple business problems into multi-component solutions with clear, tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating large code bases, debugging others' code, and providing code review feedback.
  • Ownership mindset with proactive feedback seeking from team, manager, and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with a global engineering team.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
