About the role

Google Hardware Operations IT Infrastructure Engineer role in Kronstorf, Austria within the AI Infrastructure group. Focused on installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware and server software in data center environments, with emphasis on network components and on-call/shift-based responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects for the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center servers and network infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and repair broken equipment, including servers, networking, and storage devices.
  • Install and maintain switches, routers, and other networking gear.
  • Participate in primary or secondary on-call shifts.
  • Commit to working weekend shift schemes and 24/7 shifts when needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience with performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting one of the following: operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting one of the following: operating systems and computer/server hardware or networking protocols.
  • Experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
  • Ability to communicate in German fluently to engage in day-to-day operations, and with colleagues.
