About the role

Technical Solutions Engineer role for Google Cloud Infrastructure/Compute, focusing on 24x7 customer support, troubleshooting, and advocating for customer needs across Google Cloud products.

Responsibilities

  • - Work within a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support.
  • - Manage the customer’s problem through diagnosis, resolution, or investigation tools to increase productivity for issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
  • - Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to resolve deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
  • - Develop understanding of Google's product technology and architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining root causes, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
  • - Work with Product and Engineering teams to improve the product, and collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering teams to drive high-quality production while advocating customer needs.

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • - 5 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs, and triaging technical issues (hardware, software, application, operational, process).
  • - 5 years of experience with computer networking and web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS).
  • - Experience as a system administrator with Linux/Unix, or Windows systems.
  • - Experience with one or more core programming or scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Shell, Perl, Visual Basic).
