About the role

Software Engineering Manager responsible for leading a team of engineers in low-level embedded software, firmware bring-ups, and contributing to open-source projects such as coreboot and Zephyr OS, with responsibilities spanning technical leadership, project and team management, and collaboration with ODMs/OEMs and SoC vendors for ChromeOS devices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 8-9 engineers.
  • Work with a larger team of engineers and product managers to design and develop firmware features.
  • Evaluate and help improve firmware code and processes for scalability and maintainability.
  • Participate in board bring-ups and work with partners to deliver new Chrome OS and Android devices.
  • Collaborate with a global team of software and hardware engineers on new technology proposals and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
